MDL, a closely held company, was incorporated as MDL Construction Pvt. Ltd. in New Delhi under the Indian Companies Act, 1956 on 13th Nov 2000 (Company Registration No.108494) and renamed as MDL Energy Pvt. Ltd. on 27th February 2006. The focus of company has been infrastructure development where it has executed road and water pipe line projects before it entered the energy (oil & gas) sector in 2004.

In late 2007, MDL embarked on an expansion program through offshore construction assets acquisition and new buildings. It has successfully commissioned in early 2010 its first vessel DLB Quippo Prakash a state-of-the-art Derrick Pipe Lay Barge with accommodation for 300 and a heavy lift crane of 2000MT. The DLB is presently deployed on long term charter with a Malaysian conglomerate in oil and gas construction sector.

Other new-builds have been ordered which will start entering the fleet from 2012 onwards.

MDL’s philosophy is to build long term partnerships with leading players in their fields. It has expertise in conceptualizing the projects and timely-within cost commissioning with the help of a dedicated project management team.  It has helped in attracting investors & strategic partners. Due to this, all of the assets planned are under partnership with players having clientele or financing support while project management is in-house at MDL. Presently, MDL has long term partnership with Wartsila, Srei Infrastructure, India, SapuraCrest Petroleum, Nordic Maritime, etc. For EPC projects, MDL has joined hands with well equipped players like SEW Infra- India, TIMAS Indonesia and others.
